Our youngest but no less talented rider, Cam has been putting in some serious time on his factory issue Flux Carbon 27.5. We rely on rider feedback, initial thoughts from Cam are positive and gave him some good results over the weekend. Built with a SRAM XX1 build and other assorted trick bits, this is the first! But not the last and we hope to have the Flux Carbon 27.5 available as soon is humanly possible.
In case you’re wondering who Cam is, he only 15 and proving himself as a very strong rider. He is in his first year as a U16 rider competing in MTB, Road & Track. He is hoping to be accepted onto the GB Talent Team (Youth level Olympic Development Programme) this year & with the way his results are improving we think this is a real possibility.
Last season he was 2nd overall in the U14 International Youth Tour of Ireland road race having won the opening stage in a 4 man breakaway. He won the KOM competition by a country mile winning every climb and was only 4 seonds off the winner who took time in the TT. He finished 4th overall in the GB National MTB Series.
This year so far in MTB he was 2nd in Round 1 of the Midlands Series in March. He should be Midlands (like a region/State) Youth Champion but he punctured on last lap when he was >1.5 mins up on nearest challenger – managed 5th after running the last 20 mins! Two weeks ago he was 3rd in the Altura MTB series.
Last weekend he had a great ride on his new bike to finish 4th in Round 3 of the GB National MTB Series in Wales. He loves hard technically challenging courses which this one & the Midlands Champs certainly were. He is a great climber and fearless descender. We are proud of Cam here at Velocite.
